Indonesian Heritage Society teachers are currently teaching five different languages (English, Dutch and Japanese) at the Museum Nasional only for museum staff.
All classes are held on Monday morning. We organize a session of 6(six) weeks.
We are always looking for new Volunteers. You can choose to voluntarily teach only for one session if you are unable to commit completely.
For more information, and if you are willing to teach please contact the Language Classes Co-Chairs at languages@heritagejkt.org.
The Language Department of the International Heritage Society is looking for Volunteers
Indonesian Heritage Society offers Language classes to staff members working for the “Museum Nasional”.
At the moment we have an English and Japanese Language section. Especially for the English section we are looking for new volunteers.
About the classes:
Classes are held in a seminar room in the new wing of the National Museum on Mondays from 09.30 till 11.00 am.
About the teachers:
Our voluntary teachers need not to be qualified. Anyone who is fluent in the language, in this case English and Japanese, and who is keen to help Indonesians improve their foreign language skills is an ideal candidate.
Course books on all languages are available containing relevant graded exercises, tests and dvd’s. Support and guidance will also be provided by meetings, workshops and the co chair. Also other volunteers are always ready to assist new teachers.
About the terms:
Every term has six weeks and we normally ask volunteers to teach at least one term, but any contribution is welcome as we are also looking for people to assist as a replacement in case the main teacher is not available.
About registration:
New volunteers that are interested simply need to register interest by email to Museum Language classes: languages@heritagejkt.org.
You will be invited by the co chair and will sit in on a class to get a feel for the teaching and to familiarize yourself with the students.
