The whole Alvar Aalto Center is marked on the map/city plan by the marks.
YH ~ means that the whole city block consists of administration and office/bureau buildings. (for example Seinäjoki City Hall)
YYH ~means that the block consists of cultural buildings (and the administration/offices, which belong to these culture systems) (for example Seinäjoki Theatre).
SRS/S-1 ~ marks are dealing with the legislation of preserving and conservation of Aalto buildings.
The whole Aalto Center (note! the whole Aalto Center/Area includes buildings, court yards, church yard, and the yards between the buildings.)
All these areas are protected by the law ("Ympäristöministeriön 24.10.2005 rakennussuojelulain nojalla antama suojelupäätös N:o YM 6/531/2005").
The whole Aalto Center (buildins etc.) is very valuable because of its’ culture, building, art and national history. The whole area and all the buildings have to be used, maintained, repaired and renovated by taking in to consideration all of those values of the whole area. It is not allowed to demolish/break down any of these buildings and not any details that belong to the buildings or the whole area.
For essential renovation or modificatios works of these buildings, it has to be asked permission from the National Board of Antiquities.
SK ~black line by which it is marked the whole block area. This line means tht whole block area is protected by the law.
