Pursuant to the request of Dr. Ohts
Pursuant to the request of Dr. Ohtsura Niwa, Executive Councilor, I am proposing a resolution to be adopted by unanimous consent of the Board of Councilors (as required by Article 26 of the Articles of Incorporation of the Radiation Effects Research Foundation) appointing Dr. Jonathan Samet as the Vice Executive Councilor of the Board of Councilors to replace Dr. James Cox.
The resolution proposed for adoption by the Board of Councilors is as follows:
WHEREAS, American Councilor Dr. James D. Cox informed Dr. Niwa on or about September 22, 2014, of his intention to resign from the position of Vice Executive Councilor and, with the concurrence of American Councilors Dr. Hearne, Mr. Ziglar and Dr. Samet, Dr. Cox proposed that Dr. Jonathan M. Samet be appointed to serve the remainder of his term as Vice Executive Councilor,
NOW THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED by the Board of Councilors of the Radiation Effects Research Foundation that:
1. Dr. Jonathan M. Samet is hereby appointed to serve as Vice Executive Councilor until the completion of the regular meeting of the Board of Councilors to be held in fiscal year 2015, and
2. Dr. Samet’s tenure shall begin immediately upon receipt of the approval of all Councilors.”
