Umar Yamaoka, the first Japanese Muslim to make the Hajj in 1909.
Kotaro Yamaoka converted to Islam in Bombay-India, and chose to be named "Umar". He went for Hajj with Abdul Rashid Ibrahim, traveled to several Muslim countries, including Egypt, Turkey, wrote many books, and died ill in clinics at the age of eighty, rahimahullah.
