OK, so we are able to get link up on our product, I assume we can start talking about the link issue with the BlackDiamond-X8,
This may be related to the FEC I was talking about, FEC is "Forward Error Correction".
See some info in:
http://www.slideshare.net/sanmap/fecforward-error-correction-for-optics-professionals
http://www.ieee802.org/3/ba/public/may08/dawe_02_0508.pdf
This is usually used with 100G SR4.
In our product this is enabled in both SR4 and LR4, and currently we are unable to disable it.
For LR4 this is usually not needed and it is possible that the BlackDiamond-X8 is or FEC disable, or it does not have the ability to support that.
Any way for you to check if there is an option to configure that on the BlackDiamond-X8?
We have talked with Intel on this issue with the Red-Rock-Canyon and currently we do not have the option to disable FEC.
I think that the above if the reason not to have link working for you with the BlackDiamond-X8.
