Dear Kido-san,
Dear Fujio-san,
Thank you very much for your continuous support to our business as always.
We understand the position of Xacti about this issue and therefore we want to start the discussion of the entire issue to avoid any misunderstanding.
Please let me summarize all items that have now to be discussed (for the actual situation and for further ones):
1) During your last visit at LCW we have spoken about the below issue but in a different way.
The decision was that all parties would check again these cameras during the next visit to PXI (with quality data sheet in together incoming check in Wetzlar we have seen that our team has the same judgment as PXI).
As you well know LCW is now preparing in a short term a visit to PXI.
So we are very surprised that you have decided to send us these cameras back to us.
Do we have still the opportunity to check them at PXI? Can you stop the export of these cameras?
This was combined by both parties.
Please provide us some feedback to this issue.
2) We take into knowledge that according to PXI 847x cameras was judged as ok.
But PXI/Xacti has to understand that at the moment we cannot confirm this information because we could not see these cameras.
We thought that we would have the opportunity to do it in the next visit.
It is very important that we maintain a communication process that is acceptable for both parties.
Therefore we request Xacti/PXI to inform us immediately after the reception of NG cameras that you have found cameras that are in specification and that cannot be accepted by you.
It is understandable for all parties that we cannot be informed of problems that have occurred some months ago (starting Sept. 2014).
Xacti should have an immediate, direct and time opportune communication for the case that you find ok cameras in our returned product.
This will allow us to start immediately discussion with you about the divergences.
Under this consideration we cannot accept the cost for these 847x cameras.
3) During your visit to LCW we have also informed you about the situation that Leica have about the return shipment of repaired cameras from PXI.
As you well know, Leica has until today supported the transportation cost of the cameras that were repaired at PXI.
As you have also mentioned below, during Sept. 2014 and until Dec. 2014 we have re- Imported again from PXI about 3841 cameras to LCW.
All transportations costs were until today supported by Leica (including handling cost, inspection cost, preparing of the documentation, etc…).
As you can imagine and calculate in an entire FY we have a lot of costs that were supported until today by Leica.
In a near future we cannot support anymore these costs.
Please let me inform you that Leica has started to discuss this situation with all of our suppliers (without exception).
We have a clear indication from our board that transportation cost that was not provoked by Leica has to be supported by the supplier (for example the replacement of returned products).
The existing alternative is that returned products are reimported at suppliers cost or the transportation cost that Leica have, has to be forwarded to the supplier.
Under this consideration we need to start discussion with you about this situation for further cases.
Leica will of course honor the costs that can really be imputed to us (for the case that NG judged cameras are still in specification), but the suppliers has also the support the costs that are not provoked by Leica.
Leica has the expectation and hopes that with the quality improvement from Xacti’s cameras the situation of the costs will have a minor impact at Xacti.
Therefore please let us work on this issue.
Thank you very much for your best attention regarding this issue.
Please be free to contact us for any question that you may have.
Mit freundlichen Grüßen / Kind regards / Cumprimentos
