Hi there Parents of JYS U12,
For those who don’t know me yet, my name is Pedro Nemalceff and I am the League Manager for JYS U12 Age Group this year. For the people who already know me, welcome back!!!
Sorry for the delay in getting this desperately waited email but there some logistics details that had to be sorted out first. There are still some things that are yet to be finalized, so bear with me please.
Here is the information that is certain as of now:
1. We will have anywhere from 10 to 12 teams in U12 this year. We are still having registrations.
2. We will be playing 9 vs 9 games, with 4 quarters of 15 minutes each quarter.
3. We will be playing on Field 2 of JIS (formerly known as Field 4).
4. We will be playing Saturdays afternoons, starting at 13:00 and finishing at 17:30. There will be 3 time slots for games 13:00-14:30, 14:30-16:00, 16:00-17:30.
5. Practices will take place on Tuesdays, Wednesdays or Thursdays, on the same Field 2, from 17:30-19:00, depending on the team your son/daughter ends up playing for.
6. Teams have NOT been formed or selected yet. We are still having kids being registered and we will have a players review session this coming Saturday 30th of August.
7. There will be 8 weekends (Saturdays) of JYS this year. The weekends as per the below table.
For Saturday, we will have 2 times slots because we cannot have all the children on the pitch at the same time. One slot will be from 13:30-15:30 and the second slot will be from 15:30-17:30. We will have kids playing in different teams during this time. Kids do not need a uniform, we will have pennies (vests).
I expect/hope to have all finalized by Monday next week after the first weekend of players review.
Once we have run the review session, kids will be broken into teams. Each team will have a name and most likely 2 parents co-coaching. Communication will be made through the parents coaches who I like to call “Coordinating Parents”.
I will be sending the emails to the respective groups for this coming Saturday tomorrow morning at the latest. So your child will either play from 13:30-15:30 or from 15:30-17:30 this Saturday. I know this is a bit to ask, spend 2 hours at the field, but think about all the Parents/Coaches who will spend there 4 hours. And we do this bit of extra effort the 1st Saturday for the benefit of the rest of the season. The aim is to have teams as evenly distributed as possible so that games are fair an close. At the end, we all want our children to have fun and play football, therefore looking forward to the weekend. I hope you all understand.
If you have any questions this week, feel free to email me any time. After this weekend, communication will take place with each team’s Coach/Coordinating Parent.
All the best
