The company which runs the East Anglia rail franchise has dismissed speculation it's rethinking its bid for the contract.
The Sunday Times reported that Abellio had wanted talks with the ministers before it launches a new bid for the franchise. But a spokesman for the company - which runs Abellio Greater Anglia - denied the report saying it was still awaiting a decision from the Department for Transport.
It is often common for speculative comments to be made around the time of when a franchise announcement is due to be made. In the case of Abellio I can confirm that we find ourselves in exactly the same place as the other bidders and that is awaiting on the decision from the DfT.
We have no reason to believe that it is nothing other than business as usual at the DfT.
