I can't really say much more than what has already been said. It's a beautiful synagogue absolutely worth visiting while seeing everything else in Coptic Cairo. The interior is ornate and I would recommend that you tip 5 or 10 LE for visiting, although there is no enforced price of admission. Photographs of the interior are supposed to be prohibited, which is too bad because it is so lovely. The one feature that isn't prominently advertised is the spot directly behind the synagogue where the baby Moses was allegedly pulled from the basket in the Nile by Pharaoh's daughter. Most everything is covered up now, but there is a large grate covering a hole in the ground that still has water in the bottom. It'd be a shame to miss taking a minute to soak in that spot on account of it not really being advertised. Even our local guide didn't know to point it out until we asked. But when she asked, sure enough, that's the spot.
